About YASUDA SHOTEN

Gifu Prefecture (Mino-Owari district), where YASUDA SHOTEN is located is famous for mulberry cultivation, and used to be read in the Japanese poem called Haiku, in Genroku era (1688-1704)

Mulberry cultivation and the textile manufacturing have been growing in Mino-Owari district, and became one of the three most famous Crepe fabric production areas in Japan, listed right along with Kyoto area (Tango-Nagahama district).

YASUDA SHOTEN started with silk, and has been producing a variety of fabrics as a fabric manufacture originating from the Nishijin-Ori of Kyoto. Influenced by the neighbor town of Ichinomiya, Aichi, which is renowned for the production area of woolen fabrics, we have developed a unique fabrication technology by weaving fine and thick count yarn with a high-density textile and has become our area of an expertise.

Today, we are proud to be a leading company in the Japanese interior fabric industry.  Since founding the company, we constantly have incorporated technical changes, adapt to a new eras, and won’t spare any efforts for product development that contributes to the society by providing more of environmental-friendly, safer and securer product.

Accumulated product development by history
YASUDA SHOTEN started its business by producing white fabrics for Kimono, and has adapted to changes in the times by developing and producing high-quality Kimono fabrics (crepe・figured habutae), wall covering clothes, curtains, and chair upholsteries. Due to this adaptation, we have always installed development facilities, and made some necessary procedure improvements. We are now able to weave a variety of yarns from fine count (20 denier) to thick count (2000 denier) in the same fabrics, and are still polishing our product development capabilities.
